9th Annual NIH American Indian &
Alaska Native Heritage Month Program
Natcher Auditorium, Building 45

The program will feature Patricia Nez Henderson, MD, MPH, speaking on the topic "Indian Country Tobacco-free & Smokefree Policy: The Navajo Experience." Dr. Henderson is Vice President of the Black Hills Center for American Indian Health, a non-profit health organization in Rapid City, South Dakota.
There will also be a cultural performance featuring the dance troupe, Red Crooked Sky, a collaborative mix of American Indians cultivating and promoting positive cultural awareness through traditional and contemporary dance.
In collaboration, Fogarty International Center and the NHLBI will present a poster session between 1:00 pm and 3:00 p.m., C1 & G1, Natcher Conference Center. The posters will feature research of projects from the Native American Research Centers for Health (NARCH) program, funded by the Indian Health Service in collaboration with NIH. This event is being co-sponsored by the NIH American Indian/Alaska Native Employee Council (AIANEC), the NIH Office of Equal Opportunity and Diversity Management (OEODM) and the NIH John E. Fogarty International Center (FIC).

PARKING: The museum does NOT have parking. Street parking is available by meter
on the surrounding streets and in local paid parking garages.
METRO: L’Enfant Plaza Station (Exit Maryland Avenue) or Federal Center SW Station
ENTRANCE: Before 10:00 a.m. use the South entrance (on Independence Avenue).
After 10:00 a.m. the museum is open to the general public
and you must use the main entrance.
