Background

The elevation of the Indian Health Service (IHS) to Agency status has placed additional administrative
information requirements on the IHS staff. The delegations of authority system maintains management
responsibility and accountability within the IHS staff. The issuance of this chapter contributes
to the improvement of IHS management systems.

Post receipt of this transmittal to the Checklist of Transmittal Notices and file this transmittal in
sequential order after the Checklist.
