The revised paragraph now requires information technology contractors and Federal employees to have their background checks completed and satisfactory results obtained before they begin working. A Project Officer or Servicing Personnel Office may request a temporary waiver to address an emergency situation or emergency staffing shortages from the Program Integrity and Ethics Staff. However, a minimum of 48 hours must be allowed for name checks to be completed before a waiver can be granted.
