Welcome
The Office of Tribal Self-Governance (OTSG) is located in Rockville, Maryland, in the Office of the Director of the Indian Health Service (IHS), Department of Health and Human Services. OTSG is responsible for a wide range of agency functions that are critical to the IHS' relationships with Tribal leaders, organizations, and other American Indian and Alaska Native groups. OTSG develops and oversees the implementation of Tribal Self-Governance legislation and authorities in the IHS, under Title V of the Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act, Public Law 93-638, as amended. OTSG is a national program providing information, technical assistance, and policy coordination in support of IHS Self-Governance activities, with maximum input from IHS staff and workgroups, Tribes and Tribal organizations, and the Tribal Self-Governance Advisory Committee (TSGAC).
WHAT'S NEW?
TRIBAL SELF-GOVERNANCE ADVISORY COMMITTEE (TSGAC):
The TSGAC meets quarterly to address health issues and concerns associated with Tribes who compact their health care directly from the Indian Health Service. These meetings will help elevate the health status of American Indians and Alaska Natives to a level comparable with the rest of the United States. Below is the schedule for all 2010 TSGAC meetings that will be held in Washington, D.C.:
