Description:
The RPMS Basic Point of Sale Application course is designed to teach the new Point of Sale users the fundamentals of the application including: add/edit insurers, working rejections, processing manual claims, and printing routine reports. The course additionally includes vital information for Point of Sale personnel such as the team approach to the revenue generation cycle and customer service proficiency.
Details:
Class Time: 9:00am to 5:00pm Pacific. This is a satellite classroom session. The trainer will be teaching via the web/teleconference in coordination with the local proctor- Kelly Stephenson. This session does include hands-on components. Students of this session will need to participate in the Area classroom. PHARMACY POINT OF SALE [ABSP] Version 1.0 Course Description: The RPMS Point of Sale [POS] Pharmacy Billing package, Version 1.0 is an application that allows prescription drug claims to be transmitted electronically to the payer in “real time.” This training is a combination of lecture, assignments, and hands-on training that will guide you through the process of submitting your pharmacy claims and will help you get started in setting up your POS system. We will cover a number of topics related to pharmacy billing, including: • A detailed description of the different RPMS packages used in POS billing, including Patient Registration, Third Party Billing, Outpatient Pharmacy package, and RPMS POS. • Explanation of how the switch company works and how to research which format to use for a particular plan • References and resources for POS billing • POS set-up and how to link formats • How to fix rejections including DUR’s, prior authorizations, and DAW overrides • POS menus and how to use them • POS reports and how to interpret them • Troubleshooting common POS problems and who to contact Prerequisites: In order to maximize the POS training, each facility should try to send a staff member that has keys to each of the following areas: • Third Party Billing – table maintenance [setting up pharmacy insurers and setting up groups] • Patient Registration – entering/editing eligibility information • Outpatient Pharmacy package, manager menu – editing drug and prescription information You will need to have the POS package installed and current with patches and have access to all menus [POS User, Reports & Manager] Attendees will be given time and should be prepared to log into their facility system from the training room to work on site specific issues. If possible you will also need to bring your home Network IP address.
