Behavioral Health Work Group (BHWG)

At the 2005 and 2006 IHS Behavioral Health Conferences, the Alcohol and Substance Abuse Workgroup met with the IHS Director and other key personnel regarding recommendations to revise and expand the previous Alcohol and Substance Abuse National 5-year Strategic Plan to include co-existing conditions related to mental health and other health concerns. This led to the 2007 formation of the Behavioral Health Workgroup, composed of new members and previous Alcohol and Substance Abuse Workgroup members interested in serving on the new committee.
