About CATTARAUGUS

The Seneca Nation Health Department [SNHD] provides comprehensive health services to the Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Niagara, and Erie [excluding the Tonawanda Reservation] Counties in the State of New York, and Warren County in the State of Pennsylvania. The two primary facilities are the Cattaraugus Indian Reservation Health Center [CIRHC] and the Lionel R. John Health Center [LRJHC] that opened in the Fall 1993, and provide comprehensive primary care in the treatment and prevention of acute and chronic illnesses and/or injuries to all service-eligible Native Americans. The health program consists of five major components: Medical, Dental, Community Health, Human Services, and Contract Health Services. SNHD facilities also include a satellite program office in Buffalo, NY, that offers limited services. Straddling the New York-Pennsylvania border, these two growing facilities provide comprehensive care. The area itself offers both a rural atmosphere and the breathtaking sites of Niagara Falls nearby.
