Amendment agreed to, by voice vote.
    • H.AMDT.836 Amendment (A002) offered by Mr. Dannemeyer, would have deleted language which provided that “the Federal government shall not have a right to recover against a tribally funded self-insurance plan for health services provided to an eligible individual”; amendment failed by recorded vote of 165 to 199.
    • H.AMDT.837 Amendment (A003) offered by Mr. Williams, to authorize the Indian Health Service to enter into 6 demonstration projects with Indian tribes to share the costs of providing nursing home care for their elderly. Amendment agreed to by voice vote.
    • H.AMDT.838 Amendment (A004) offered by Mr. Williams, clarifies that programs that have been eligible in the past for substance abuse resources will continue to be eligible under this bill. Amendment agreed to by voice vote.
    • H.AMDT.839 Amendment (A005) offered by Mr. Dorgan (ND), to allow the Secretary of the Interior to make grants to the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe for the purpose of developing an alcohol and substance abuse program to serve as a model for Indian alcohol and substance abuse programs nationwide. Amendment agreed to by voice vote.
    • H.AMDT.840 Amendment in the nature of a substitute, as reported by the House Committee on Interior and Insular Affairs, agreed to by voice vote, and printed as the original bill
