BACKGROUND
This is to transmit a copy of Part 7, Chapter 5, "Administrative Grievance System," Indian Health Manual (IHM). The revised chapter prescribes policies, procedures, and guidelines for the Indian Health Service (IHS) Administrative Grievance System. The IHS administrative grievance procedure has been revised to clarify the process of filing a grievance. The revisions address substantive and procedural questions concerning the current administrative grievance procedure. New procedures have been added to simplify and improve the flow of the grievance process, such as, maintaining a complete grievance file in the Division of Human Resources and providing a point of contact for supervisors and employees.
