Comfortable place for the patient to sit and elevate their feet
Stabilize toe to be clipped with non-dominant hand.
Starting at one edge, clip the nail using a nipper.
Use your index finger to block any flying nail fragments.
Use small nips to cut along the curve of the toe.
Use the emery board to file off any sharp edges, avoid scraping skin.
Apply lotion to the dorsum and soles of the feet.
Rub lotion into the heels well.
Wipe any excess lotion off using the towel.
