Verifying Your Data

Verifying Data Received by the NDW

When a file is successfully received by the NDW, the process sends out an automated email report called the NDW Data Transmission Log Report (commonly called the “Acknowledgement Report”, or “ACK” for short ) to the Site/Area contacts we have in our contact list. Also see the section “Export Tracking Mart” for additional resources for tracking your file’s status.
Below are some commonly asked questions concerning your exports received by the NDW:

Who receives the notifications and how can I change the recipients?
What if the Acknowledgement Report (ACK) indicates errors/rejections?
What if I sent a file but did not receive an automated email Acknowledgement Report/Confirmation?

If you have not received an Acknowledgement Report/Confirmation within 24 hours and you have access to the Export Tracking Mart, you should first try to locate the file in the Export Tracking Mart:

If the file is found, send an email indicating the filename and/or export id to support@ihs.gov requesting that a copy of the ACK email be sent to you.  The problem may be an issue with the email system or the accuracy of our contact list.

If you cannot find the file, one of the following situations is likely the cause:

    1. Your file transmission was not successful.
    2. Processing has temporarily been stopped at the NDW.
    3. The email system encountered a problem.

If you do not have access to the Export Tracking Mart or your file was not found there, send an email indicating the filename or sending site/date to support@ihs.gov and explain that a file has been sent but no ACK confirmation has been received.
