Tobacco Use Prevention Education

Program Type: Resources - Information or materials that might help develop a program/project in a community but can not be defined as a Best Practice, Promising Practice, or Local Effort.

Description:
Tobacco abused in any form is a lethal substance. Current commercial uses of tobacco are not only a great health risk to our society, but also pose a threat to our traditional uses of tobacco. We strongly believe that Native youth's cultural knowledge of the traditional uses of tobacco will help to curb the commercial abuse of tobacco. We want to preserve our heritage, by educating our youth and teaching them the old ways. Don’t let commercial tobacco with all of its thousands of chemicals kill our people. Please respect the use of sacred tobacco in its traditional use.
