CDC Community Guide: Tobacco Interventions

Program Type: Evidence Based Practice - Programs formally evaluated to be effective, sometimes called "Best Practices", that can be replicated and implemented, even with modifications in other settings

Description:
Mass media interventions are long-term, high-intensity counter advertising campaigns. They are effective in motivating children and adolescents to remain tobacco free. These campaigns are also effective in motivating adult tobacco users to quit. Effective in combination with other interventions (i.e. tobacco price increases, school and community based education). Strongly recommended based on scientific evidence.
