Summary:

The purpose of this 3-day course is to give IHS Dental Chiefs, Tribal Clinical Dental Managers, and Dental Hygienists a better understanding of the “nuts and bolts” of dental program management. The course will include standards of care related to program management, treatment of high-risk dental patients, and the Government Performance and Results Act [GPRA]. Objectives for individual sessions on file.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to:
1. Describe the standards of care as they relate to credentialing, privileging, patient safety, chart documentation, quality improvement, health promotion/disease prevention, and policies.
2. Explain the difference and cite examples of quality assurance vs. quality improvement.
3. Describe at least 5 standards of care related to treatment of periodontal disease, pediatric patients, and endodontic cases.

Tuition Policy:

Tuition must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start date of any course. Request for refunds must be received in writing at least two weeks before the course begins. For each refund request, there will be an administrative charge of $100. No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to attend a course. If IHS CDE program cancels a course, then 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
