This training discusses the burden of diabetes, diabetes standards of care and diabetes prevention. Screening and detection of diabetes and targets for glucose, lipids and blood pressure are reviewed. A rational approach to individualizing treatment targets is presented.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to:
1. Incorporate recent guidelines for screening and detection of diabetes into clinical practice.
2. Review recommended target levels for glucose, blood pressure and lipids control in diabetes
3. Incorporate key concepts of individualizing targets based on patient characteristics into clinical practice.
4. Incorporate recent guidelines for screening, detection and prevention of type 2 diabetes into clinical practice.
5. Identify at least one change you will incorporate into your clinical or public health practice.

Tuition must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start date of any course. Request for refunds must be received in writing at least two weeks before the course begins. For each refund request, there will be an administrative charge of $100. No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to attend a course. If IHS CDE program cancels a course, then 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
