DE0625: How can an expanded function dental assistant benefit your clinic?
The purpose of this presentation is to provide the audience – dentists, dental hygienists, and dental assistants – with information about how a periodontal EFDA can benefit them and their program. This course is only available to dental staff in the Albuquerque and Nashville Areas.
At the completion of this presentation, participants will be able to:
1. Describe the history of periodontal and restorative EFDAs in the IHS;
2. Explain the scope of practice for periodontal and restorative EFDAs and the level of supervision required; and
3. Describe the course curriculum for the periodontal and restorative EFDA courses, follow-up required for completion of course requirements, and annual competency assessments recommended.

Tuition must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start date of any course. Request for refunds must be received in writing at least two weeks before the course begins. For each refund request, there will be an administrative charge of $100. No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to attend a course. If IHS CDE program cancels a course, then 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
