Summary:

This webinar is offered through a collaboration with the IHS This presentation will provide an overview of the clinical management of overweight children and some resources and strategies for improving their care. The training will update knowledge of providers and is also designed with the intent of providing ideas for evidence based interventions. A review of current data on pediatric overweight and obesity and the relationship with type 2 diabetes and discussion of evidence based prevention and treatment of overweight and obesity in children will also be provided.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
1. Analyze epidemiology data regarding childhood diabetes and associated risk factors.
2. Assess risk factors for the development of childhood obesity in pediatric patients.
3. Identify one change you can make in your clinical or public health practice.

Tuition Policy:

Tuition must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start date of any course. Request for refunds must be received in writing at least two weeks before the course begins. For each refund request, there will be an administrative charge of $100. No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to attend a course. If IHS CDE program cancels a course, then 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
