The National Challenges Course is designed to be an orientation course for new dentists - dentists with less than 5 years of experience in an IHS, Tribal, or Urban dental program. This course is taught by the IHS National Dental Specialty Consultants and relays standards of care for IHS dental programs. Whether you're a new dental graduate or a seasoned private practice dentist but new to the IHS, this course has something to offer to all newer dentists.

ADA CERP does not approve or endorse individual courses or instructors, nor does it imply acceptance of credit hours by boards of dentistry. Prerequisites:

Participants should be dentists with 5 or fewer years of service in an IHS, tribal, or urban dental program. This means that some participants may be within 5 years of dental graduation, while others may have 20 or more years of private practice or military experience but less than 5 years in an IHS, tribal, or urban dental program. This diversity in overall experience will enrich all participants.

Please note that partial credit is not available for participants. Travel days are Monday and Friday and to receive full credit for participation, participants should plan to attend all Tuesday through Thursday sessions.

Tuition Policy:

Tuition must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start date of any course. Request for refunds must be received in writing at least two weeks before the course begins. For each refund request, there will be an administrative charge of $100. No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to attend a course. If IHS CDE program cancels a course, then 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
