This webinar will introduce food and nutrition insecurity, including the national landscape of the Food is
Medicine movement. Presenters will discuss how addressing food insecurity influences diabetes management
and health outcomes. Lastly, presenters will identify strategies that can be implemented to address food and
nutrition insecurity.

Objectives and Outcomes: As a result of completing this training, the healthcare team will be able to:
1. Examine the difference between food and nutrition insecurity in relation to diabetes
management.
2. Explore how food insecurity influences positive health outcomes.
3. Examine the antecedents leading to food and nutrition insecurity and strategies that can be
implemented.

Tuition must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start date of any course. Request for refunds must be received in writing at least two weeks before the course begins. For each refund request, there will be an administrative charge of $100. No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to attend a course. If IHS CDE program cancels a course, then 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
