The control of bleeding is an essential part of any surgical procedure. There are many factors that affect coagulation. This course is designed to acquaint the dental practitioner with various bleeding disorders and how they affect treatment decisions. This course will be an aid in applying that knowledge in everyday practice.

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
1.   Describe the difference between innate and acquired coagulopathies and give examples of each.
2.   List common coagulation inducing medications that can be encountered in the practice of dentistry.
3.    Explain the rationale and the use of various local surgical site measures to aid in attaining hemostasis.

Tuition must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start date of any course. Request for refunds must be received in writing at least two weeks before the course begins. For each refund request, there will be an administrative charge of $100. No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to attend a course. If IHS CDE program cancels a course, then 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
