Location: Webinar: 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, CDT
Description: This session is presented by Managed Design and is for CAD technicians and engineers. It will provide a comprehensive overview of the creation of a sanitary sewer network in AutoCAD Civil 3D 2012 and of Autodesk’s Storm and Sanitary Analysis [SSA]. The session will focus on applying the core concepts involved in laying out a sanitary sewer network for a typical IHS project. Topics include: creating a sanitary sewer network using AutoCAD Civil 3D 2012, editing elevations, pipes sizes, reversing the direction of a network, re-applying the network rules, adding additional structures to the model, labeling both pipes and structures, importing both into a profile view and adding labels, exporting the network to Microsoft Excel to help with quantities of the sewer network and then creating tables in Civil 3D, exporting the network from AutoCAD Civil 3D 2012 into Autodesk SSA for analysis, and then import the network back into AutoCAD Civil 3D 2012. Finally, using the Plan Production tools to create construction sheets. Note: Student must be logged on to webinar for at least 95 percent of the webinar duration to receive course completion certificate with PDUs.
Learning Outcomes: In this 4 hour hands-on session attendees will learn the process for creating a sanitary sewer network in AutoCAD Civil 3D 2012, modifying the network, labeling the network in both plan and profile views, exporting sanitary models into SSA for analysis, and steps for importing the analyzed network model back into AutoCAD Civil 3D 2012.
Prerequisites: Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D 2012 and AutoCAD 2012.
