Description: This training class includes discussions and hands-on workshops on collection system hydraulics, new system design, master planning, capacity analysis, and rehabilitation, for wastewater collection systems. In addition to instruction on how the models work, students complete hands-on exercises using SewerGEMS and SewerCAD software, a dynamic analysis tool that can run directly within the GIS environment. Both steady-state and extended-period simulations [through time] are presented in this course, as well as gravity and pressure system components. Attendees learn to customize plan and profile sheets, tabular reports and sanitary and wet-weather loadings. Exercises apply SewerGEMS and SewerCAD tools to leverage existing GIS and database information to build models and populate loadings. Analyses of combined sewer systems are also covered in this course. Students will work the case studies using the Stand Alone SewerGEMS and/or SewerCAD
Learning Outcomes: • Use existing GIS and database information to build models and populate loadings • Produce customized profiles, graphs & tables • Present and review model results for pipe sizing, capacity analysis and wet weather overflows.
Prerequisites: • A cursory understanding of Sanitary Sewer and/or Storm collection systems Working knowledge of AutoCAD 12 Fundamentals Access to Bentley SewerCAD and SewerGEMS software. VOIP headset recommended.
