SUBJECT: Delegation of Authority to Approve Reorganization Proposals

AUHTORITY DELEGATED AND TO WHOM

Pursuant to the authority delegated to the Director, Indian Health Service (IHS), on November 22, 1989, concerning the authority to approve reorganization proposals, I hereby delegate to the Director, Alaska Area IHS, the authority to approve reorganizations at the Alaska Native Medical Center, Anchorage, Alaska.

REDELEGATION AND RESTRICTIONS

This authority may not be redelegated.

INFORMATION AND GUIDANCE

Consultation with the Assistant Secretary for Health is required before the approval of a reorganization that is expected to create significant interest from individuals or entities within or outside the Department.

Exercise of this authority shall be in accordance with General Administration Manual Chapter HHS 8-60 and any PHS or IHS supplements thereto.

SUPERSESSION

This delegation supersedes the December 20, 1991, delegation of authority from the Director of Headquarters Operations to all Area Directors as it pertains to restrictions on Alaska Native Medical Center reorganizations.

EFFECTIVE DATE

This delegation is effective upon date of signature.
