The purpose of this half day discussion is to inform the three dental clinics [Cass Lake, White Earth and Red Lake] on how we will do pediatric dentistry in the clinic and in the OR setting. Specific procedures common to pediatric dentistry will be discussed including: ITRs, pulpotomies, stainless steel crowns, extractions, space maintenance and the six-year molar dilemma. We will also discuss how to make appropriate referrals and problem solve any obstacles that may be occurring.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this course the participant will be able to:
1. Employ the methods and materials discussed in common pediatric dentistry procedures.
2. Determine which children can be treated by a general dentist or referred to a pediatric dentist.
3. List how the three service units will employ the use of a pediatric dentist.

Tuition Policy:

Tuition must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start date of any course. Request for refunds must be received in writing at least two weeks before the course begins. For each refund request, there will be an administrative charge of $100. No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to attend a course. If IHS CDE program cancels a course, then 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
