Baby-Friendly® Hospital Initiative

The Baby-Friendly® Hospital Initiative (BFHI) is designed to help improve overall child health, promote breastfeeding and reduce childhood obesity. The NPIRS program has been selected to develop a web-based data collection form to standardize data collection activities to support this agency-wide initiative. The web-based data entry form will allow all fourteen (14) hospitals seeking Baby Hospital Friendly certification to enter data in a standard, consistent manner that is not currently captured in the Resource Patient Management System (RPMS). The data will be used to support BHFI certification activities. Please check this site frequently to obtain updates for this initiative.
