Dear Tribal Leaders,

On February 6, 2012, the IHS Director announced that the IHS had successfully purchased Taylor Ranch on October 11, 2011, the future site of the IHS Southern Califorina YRTC.   Today it is with great pleasure that I invite you to a “Dedication of the Land” on Friday morning, March 9, 2012 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, concluding the 2012 IHS/CAO Annual Tribal Consultation.  This event marks the beginning of design phase to construct at 32-bed youth residential alcohol/substance treatment hospital in Riverside County.  This is the first IHS facility to be constructed in California since the IHS was transferred to the U.S. Public Health Service in 1955. 

You and your guests are welcome to attend the dedication, and IHS will provide transportation between the the Pala Resort/Spa and Taylor Ranch.  The vans will leave the Pala Resort/Spa hotel lobby at 8:30 AM sharp.  To reserve your seat at the Dedication, please visit:  If you choose to drive, there is limited parking on-site at Taylor Ranch.  Driving directions and a map are attached to this e-mail.

As a reminder, if you have not already done so, please register for the 2012 IHS/CAO Annual Tribal Consultation.  All conferees are encouraged to register in advance by going to  Attached (below) please find a formal letter of invitation to the 2012 IHS/CAO Annual Tribal Consultation with a preliminary outline of planned activities.
