Summary:

Chemicals from marijuana can be passed from mothers to babies in both pregnancy and in breast milk. These chemicals can be harmful to the baby’s health and development. Discover how and why cannabis chemicals can potentially change a baby‘s brain development and epigenome. This presentation looks at the most recent research and policies surrounding this controversial herb.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:
1.   Identify two cannabinoids in cannabis that are of potential concern during the perinatal period.
2.   Describe the endocannabinoid system.
3.   Develop and use two open-ended questions when counseling parents who potentially may be using cannabis during the perinatal period.

Tuition Policy:

Tuition must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start date of any course. Request for refunds must be received in writing at least two weeks before the course begins. For each refund request, there will be an administrative charge of $100. No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to attend a course. If IHS CDE program cancels a course, then 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
