Summary:

Patient Engagement is recognized as a critical part of providing quality health care. It encourages patients to engage with the resources available in order to maximize his or her own health and health care. This session will provide an overview of what patient engagement is, what the benefits of patient engagement are, and what techniques and tools are best for encouraging patients.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:
1.   Explain the benefits of Patient & Family Engagement [PFE] in achieving good outcomes in diabetes prevention and care as well as care for and other health conditions.
2.   Identify strategies that can be used to increase patients’ engagement in care settings.
3.   Locate and use tools that assess patient engagement.

Tuition Policy:

Tuition must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start date of any course. Request for refunds must be received in writing at least two weeks before the course begins. For each refund request, there will be an administrative charge of $100. No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to attend a course. If IHS CDE program cancels a course, then 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
