Summary:

There is a strong body of evidence based knowledge supporting correlations between a number of infectious diseases and diabetes. This seminar will address recommendations for identification and public health management of persons with chronic Hepatitis C. The importance of Hepatitis C identification and treatment in the context of patient needs overall and implications for changes in practice will also be discussed. This course is being offered live on 11/14/18 but will be available online for three years.

Learning Objectives:

1.   Educate patients on the causes and effects of infection with the Hepatitis C virus - transmission, disease processes and sequelae.
2.   Integrate Hepatitis C screening and treatment with existing patient care and services.
3.   Utilize current CDC Hepatitis C testing recommendations and identify testing strategies that maybe more effective in providing care to American Indians/Alaska Natives.

Tuition Policy:

Tuition must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start date of any course. Request for refunds must be received in writing at least two weeks before the course begins. For each refund request, there will be an administrative charge of $100. No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to attend a course. If IHS CDE program cancels a course, then 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
