Summary:

Nutrition education is integral to total diabetes care and education. However, it is not always available from an RD. The session will provide an overview of goals and outcomes non RDs may consider establishing with patients with diabetes as they provide nutrition education. Improving health and glucose control through food choices and physical activity will be emphasized.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:
1.Describe specific nutrition recommendations for improving glucose control in people with diabetes.
2.Identify one change you can make in your clinical or public health practice.
3.Locate and use resources for teaching patients with diabetes about improving their glucose control and health.

Tuition Policy:

Tuition must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start date of any course. Request for refunds must be received in writing at least two weeks before the course begins. For each refund request, there will be an administrative charge of $100. No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to attend a course. If IHS CDE program cancels a course, then 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
