Summary:

In 2018, the IHS unveiled the first-even dental pain management clinical guidelines. This 1-hour webinar will provide information on those guidelines, which were a collaboration between the IHS National Committee on Heroin, Opioids, and Pain Efforts [HOPE] and the IHS Division of Oral Health. The presenter will also discuss why dentists play a critical role in addressing the heroin and opioid epidemic crisis. This course was live on 10/31/18 and is available now as a recorded webinar.

Learning Objectives:

1. Describe what the IHS Recommendations for Management of Acute Dental Pain document is and where it can be found.
2. Describe why dentists play a vital role in preventing opioid and heroin addiction and why dentists should be committed to limiting opioid prescriptions.
3. Describe specific ways clinics can limit opioid prescriptions.

Tuition Policy:

Tuition must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start date of any course. Request for refunds must be received in writing at least two weeks before the course begins. For each refund request, there will be an administrative charge of $100. No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to attend a course. If IHS CDE program cancels a course, then 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
