Summary:

As oral health professionals, we play an important role in promoting oral health as well as overall health. With the majority of IHS, Tribal, and Urban dental clinics collocated with medical and mental health services, we have a unique opportunity to coordinate patient care. This webinar explores how the dental team can talk about non-dental topics and direct patients to the appropriate care when needed. Topics will include tobacco cessation, human papilloma virus [HPV] education, depression screening, and domestic violence screening.

Learning Objectives:

1. List the 5 major steps to smoking intervention;
2. Identify the most prevalent human papilloma virus cancer;
3. Implement the depression screening tool.

Tuition Policy:

Tuition must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start date of any course. Request for refunds must be received in writing at least two weeks before the course begins. For each refund request, there will be an administrative charge of $100. No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to attend a course. If IHS CDE program cancels a course, then 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
