2025 Catalog: General Courses

Description: This session will provide an overview of upstream social drivers of health are and how they affect the health of American Indian and Alaska Native people and communities. We will discuss the frameworks that encompass the social determinants of health and examine their relationship between the disparities in the SDOH and diabetes.

Objectives and Outcomes: As a result of completing this training, the healthcare team will be able to:1.Describe conceptual frameworks and the lexicon used to define Social Drivers of Health.2.Evaluate the relationship between disparities in SDOH and diabetes.3.Discuss at least three national efforts to address SDOH as an upstream strategy to decrease the prevalence of diabetes and other chronic diseases.

Tuition must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start date of any course. Request for refunds must be received in writing at least two weeks before the course begins. For each refund request, there will be an administrative charge of $100. No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to attend a course. If IHS CDE program cancels a course, then 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
