Description: This course provides a three and a half day hands-on introduction to the Epi Info™ 7 desktop and mobile public health data collection and analysis tools. The ability to load Epi Info™ forms onto a mobile device allows users to collect data in places lacking information technology infrastructure and support activities that could benefit from mobility, GPS tracking, or photographic capabilities. The participants will learn how to create and use electronic data collection forms. They will also learn how to analyze and map data collected with their electronic forms.
Learning Outcomes: At the end of the course, the participant will be able to: • Install and update Epi Info desktop and android applications • Understand the workspace of the different Epi Info modules and identify key features • Design simple data entry forms using the Form Designer and add intelligence to forms • Develop templates in Form Designer module for the exchange of projects and forms • Enter records into an Epi Info™ 7 form • Set up and load forms into Epi Info™ 7 mobile devices • Collect data using a mobile device and import data into Epi Info Desktop project • Use statistical calculators • Develop multiple layer case cluster and choropleth maps using shape files and KML files • Read multiple data sources into Epi Info™ 7 and manipulate, manage, and analyzing data • Generate statistics like Frequencies, 2x2 Tables, and Means using Epi Info™ 7 Analysis tools • Output results into HTML, Excel or Word formats for use in creating reports • Exchanging data using the Data Packager.
