BACKGROUND

This transmittal forwards Indian Health Manual Part 4, Chapter 3, Section 6, Monthly Report of Inpatient Services - IHS Hospitals.  This section will revise established Indian Health Service policy, procedures and scope of reporting workload statistics on inpatient medical services provided Indian and Alaska Native people and other authorized persons.  The procedure will abolish the use of Forms PHS-2726 (HSM-202-1) "Monthly Report of Inpatient Services - PHS Indian and Alaska Native Hospitals" and PHS 2726-1 "Daily Beneficiary Record - Inpatient" by substituting a revised "Monthly Report of Inpatient Services - IHS Hospitals" (HSM-202-1, Rev. 7/73) and "Daily Services Provided Record - IHS Hospitals" (HSM-202-2, Rev. 7/73).

BACKGROUND

This transmittal forwards a revision of Part 4, Chapter 3, Section 6, Item C.14 of the Indian Health Manual.  This revision broadens the definition of a staff unit and provides for better reporting of workload statistics on the Monthly Report of Inpatient Services - IHS Hospitals.

Copies of Forms HSM-202-1 (Rev. 73) and HSM-202-2 (Rev. 73) are transmitted to replace drafts of forms originally submitted.
