IHS Tribal Consultation on Purchased/Referred Care Chapter Updates - Conference Call Session

Description

The Office of Resource Access and Partnerships (ORAP) has completed updates and revisions to Indian Health Manual (IHM), Part 2 – Services to Indians and Others, Chapter 3 – Purchased Referred Care (PRC). The Chapter addresses several outstanding Government Accountability Office recommendations. The Director’s Workgroup on Improving PRC and the Tribal Self-Governance Advisory Committee have requested meaningful tribal consultation prior to publishing the Chapter in the IHM. The Indian Health Service is not required and does not routinely conduct Tribal consultation on internal policies and process; however, in this instance, due to the implication for Tribes, the Indian Health Service decided to conduct Tribal consultation on the PRC Chapter.
