Summary: To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): OPM Qualifications: Federal Wage System Qualifications (opm.gov) In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: WG-3:From the description below, select the appropriate response based on your level of experience and/or training that you fully possess and that demonstrates your ability to perform housekeeping aid duties. Your responses to the questionnaire must be supported by detailed descriptions of your experience on your resume. A. I have the ability to perform the most difficult and complex functions of a Custodial Worker following and using the established techniques, duties, functions, and procedures without supervision. Examples of duties include: All cleaning of patient's rooms, surgical rooms, procedure rooms, strip and wax floors, maintaining equipment, and is able to plan and coordinate with supervisor on daily work tasks. B. I have the ability to perform the full range of duties of the Custodial Worker and ask questions of the supervisor when performing new tasks only. Examples of duties include: all duties such as cleaning of patient's rooms, bathrooms, office rooms, regular and biohazard trash removal, maintaining equipment and floor care, vacuum, strip and wax floors, shampoo carpets. C. I have the ability to perform common Custodial Worker duties and I have worked under close supervision in performing the full range of Custodial Worker techniques, procedures, functions and performing duties such as: all duties to include: the cleaning of patient's room, bathrooms, surgical rooms, procedure rooms, sweep and mop floors; vacuum carpets, empty trash and bio hazard trash, work with supervisor on stripping and waxing floors. D. I have the ability to perform simple Custodial Worker duties, and require constant and more than normal supervision, in performing the full range of Custodial Worker techniques, procedures, and functions and performing duties such as: clean patient rooms, bathrooms, procedure rooms, sweep and mop floors, empty trash and biohazard trash. E. I do not possess the abilities as described above. Candidates for this position will be evaluated under the Federal Wage System (FWS) Job Grading Standards. Applicants will be rated in the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Each of the job elements must be addressed on the on-line assessment questionnaire in order for the applicant to be rated for the position. NOTE: Competition for Custodial Worker positions is restricted by law to persons entitled to veterans' preference as long as such applicants are available for appointment. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
