Summary: OPEN UNTIL FILLED. SALARY NEGOTIABLE BASED ON EDUCATION, EDUCATION, AND CREDENTIALS. Kima:w Medical is located in Hoopa, CA on the beautiful Trinity River. Hoopa is a small community of approximately 3,000 residents primarily Native American. We operate a medical clinic located on the Hoopa Valley Indian Reservation, partially funded by the Indian Health Service. The clinic is solely owned and operated by the Hoopa Valley Tribe. We are a Joint Commission accredited ambulatory clinic and behavioral health unit. Our primary programs and services are outpatient medical, dental, pharmacy, outreach services, senior nutrition, ambulance service, a grant funded diabetes department, and behavioral health unit [which includes mental health and substance abuse].

Director of Nurses/Nurse Manager, FT/Regular. Coordinates clinical nursing care, provides clinical nursing care, responsible for setting the standards for clinical nursing care by maintaining up-to-date nursing policies, procedures and protocols provides leadership when working with medical staff, ancillary services, nursing staff, and other participants in the healthcare team supervises Nursing Department.
Duties: FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Performs vital signs, patient intake, patient preparation, and clinical room preparations for procedures as needed. 2. Assists physicians and patient care providers in delivery of clinical services, primary care, procedures, and urgent care. Must be proficient in the performance of EKG, heart monitoring, and resuscitation nursing procedures. 3. Administers IV therapy, injection therapy, oxygen and central line therapy as needed in and outpatient settings. 4. Appropriately charts nursing records, and keeps appropriate documentation related to medical services provided in the clinic or urgent care. 5. Appropriately monitors patients and reports significant and timely changes to the medical care providers. 6. Is responsible for notification of appropriate medical care providers in urgent and emergent situations. 7. Participates in morning report, patient care reviews, and disposition planning. 8. Reviews all nursing incident reports and recommends and directs appropriate corrective action. 9. Is responsible for all new nursing personnel orientation. 10. Is responsible for all nursing supervision, evaluation, conduct, training needs and scheduling. Establishes and measures performance standard requirements for staff. 11. Serves on Medical Center Quality Committees as appropriate and holds regular staff meetings. 12. Is responsible to stay within budgeted resources utilization. 13. Is responsible for all nursing requirements, policies procedures, and standards for Title 22 certification and Joint Commission accreditation including infection control and compliance. 14. Must provide equipment and supplies to meet the scope of service offered. 15. Participates in appropriate assessments, monitoring, and evaluation of patient care. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly supervises all nursing for the outpatient and urgent care services. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and procedures. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, orientation and training employees planning, assigning, and directing work appraising performance rewarding and disciplining employees addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications: Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or GED CA driver license CA RN License Bachelor degree preferred two years supervisory experience preferred.
