Summary: The Tanana Chiefs Conference (TCC) is an Alaska Native non-profit corporation, charged with advancing Tribal self-determination and enhancing regional Native unity. TCC has an extensive rural health care system to support health and promote wellness to Indian Health Service beneficiaries--Alaska Natives & American Indians, as well as many non-beneficiaries, in 42 villages situated across the river systems of the Interior (Yukon, Koyukuk, Kuskokwim, Tanana and more). This 235,000 square mile region is the home of the Tanana Chiefs Conference. The new Community Health Aide Program training site is located in downtown Fairbanks, Alaska. Some training will also take place at the Chief Andrew Isaac Health Center--an award winning tribal health super clinic also located in Fairbanks.

The Tanana Chiefs Conference is looking to hire seasoned Physician Assistants & Nurse Practitioners to work as Coordinator & Clinical Instructors for our Alaska Community Health Aide Program in Fairbanks, Alaska. Qualified candidates would provide instruction, medical skills training evaluation and support services (onsite visits, video teleconferencing, review of patient encounter documentation, classroom instruction and preceptorships) to Community Health Aide Practitioners in the rural village clinics as well as providing direct clinical services (primary and preventative care) to patients 25% of the time. Our Fairbanks based training center and our Chief Andrew Isaac Health Center are hubs that serves the larger mission of supporting health and wellness to Indian Health Service beneficiaries--Alaska Natives and American Indians, as well as many non-beneficiaries, in 42 villages across the river systems of the Interior (Yukon, Koyukuk, Kuskokwim, Tanana and more). This 235,000 square mile region is the home of the Tanana Chiefs Conference. This is an opportunity for seasoned providers who are passionate about rural healthcare to mentor, train and pass on skills and experiences while equipping Community Health Aides to serve in rural clinics across Interior Alaska.
Duties: Train and equip Community Health Aides in outpatient primary care. Qualifications: • Graduate of an accredited PA or ANP training program • Board Certified • Clinical skills and experience in broad spectrum family medicine • Must be able to obtain Alaska licensure • Must possess exceptional people skills and be a team player • Experience with tribal, IHS or cross-cultural and rural medicine desired. Candidate must be willing to fly to remote clinic locations quarterly. Salary DOE $95K to $135K range DOE Full benefits include medical, dental, vision, CME, Retirement, 7% Profit Sharing, Malpractice, 30 days PTO plus 11 paid holidays.
