Summary: Wind River Family & Community Health Care provides ambulatory health care for the service population of the Wind River Reservation. The Pharmacist is a member of the pharmacy staff directly under the supervision of the Pharmacy Director of the Wind River Family and Community Health Care clinic located in Arapahoe, Wyoming. The yearly income, like other elements of the compensation package is entirely negotiable. IHS, Civil Service and Commissioned Corps Officers are welcomed and encouraged to apply. Other elements could include a moving allowance for the provider, a signing bonus, or stipend if near the end of training, prior to graduation. We can provide a site visit and compensation for the visit. We do participate in loan repayment programs, and we contribute to your continuing education. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 8a-4:45p, unless otherwise negotiated, no on call, with all Federal holidays off. Health insurance and a generous 401(k) package is available. Additional clinics are currently being constructed, making this a chance to become established in a growing, healthy organization.

The successful applicant will interview and counsel patients on the use, storage, cautions and side effects of all medications prescribed. Provides and documents patient education. Evaluates medication regimens for appropriateness, drug interactions, therapeutic duplications, non-compliance, adverse drug reaction and cost effectiveness. Analyzes medication regimens to ensure the most effective, least toxic and most economical treatment plan. Documents all clinical activities, updates problem lists and records information in the electronic health record when required. Provides on-going, comprehensive chronic disease management. The incumbent will perform other duties as assigned, such as departmental administrative functions, committee involvement quality assurance activities, statistical analysis, CME presentations, in-services, competency and proficiency reviews and involvement in performance improvement groups. The incumbent operates under collaborative practice agreements which may include limited prescribing in defined situations.
Duties: He/she must have knowledge of community health medical principles required to provide medical care to individuals and families, and the ability to provide health counseling to patients and families with a variety of health problems. Must have the ability to gain the cooperation of individuals and families in their medical care. Must have the ability to take medical histories, conduct limited physical examinations, communicate results of laboratory results and to explain medications and complications of the chronic disease process. Knowledge in planning, monitoring and evaluating drug therapy in a clinical setting. Ability to refer and consult appropriately. Must have the ability to communicate with other health care providers in regard to the total treatment of the patient. The work requires independent judgement wherein error could result in serious injury or death to a patient. The work will cover assessment, medical history, development and implementation of care plans, evaluation of the effectiveness of treatment and modification or change of treatment. The medical record is carefully reviewed for therapeutic effectiveness and appropriateness including diagnosis treatment and patient allergy and drug interaction screening. The incumbent must be able to provide pharmaceutical care services, drug information and direct patient care, and to manage interventions and therapy between primary physician visits. Qualifications: he successful applicant must have a professional knowledge of the theories, principles, practices and techniques of clinical and basic pharmacy. Must have at least a BS degree in Pharmacy, possess a Pharmacy License in good standing, and hold an RPh or Pharm D degree. Personal Attributes: The incumbent must maintain strict confidentiality and high ethical standards in performing the position. The incumbent needs to be respectful, possess cultural awareness and sensitivity, be flexible and demonstrate sound work ethics.
