Summary: OPEN UNTIL FILLED. COMMISSIONED OFFICERS WELCOME. Salary, like the other elements of our compensation package, is negotiable. Other elements could include moving allowance for provider [$2,500 or more], signing bonus [$10,000 or more], possible extended family moving allowance [$2,500 or more] or stipend if near the end of training [prior to graduation]. Provide some reimbursement for site visit to clinic [$500 or more]. We also participate in loan repayment programs. We operate a medical clinic located on the Hoopa Valley Indian Reservation, partially funded by the Indian Health Service. The clinic is solely owned and operated by the Hoopa Valley Tribe. We are a Joint Commission accredited ambulatory clinic and behavioral health unit. Our primary programs and services are outpatient medical, dental, pharmacy, outreach services, senior nutrition, ambulance service, a grant funded diabetes department, and behavioral health unit [which includes mental health and substance abuse]. Hoopa is located on the beautiful Trinity River in Northern California. Hoopa is a small community of approximately 3,000 residents primarily Native American.

Physician. FT, contract employee. Provides outpatient care and assists with our Medication Assisted Treatment program (Suboxone, DEA X-waiver required). Pursuant to Rural Acute Care Hospital standards. Conducts regular outpatient clinics and general medical and pediatric, examinations, diagnosis, and treatment of patients. Determines when the services of a specialist are needed to treat unusual cases. Makes necessary arrangements for the admission of hospital patients to appropriate hospital. Analyzes the clinical records of new patients to determine preliminary diagnosis, affords professional care to patients confined, obtains necessary consultation for cases presenting difficulty in diagnosis of treatment, and authorizes admission of patients to acute care hospitals for emergency medical care and surgery. Participates in organization meetings to develop new, modify existing, and evaluate medical procedures relative to patient care with objective of improving and increasing the degree of patient care given to patients.
Duties: FUNCTIONS RESPONSIBILITIES: As granted through the K'ima:w Medical Center Credentialing process. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide professional supervision of nurse practitioners and physician assistants in the Medical Department. JOB SPECIFIC SKILLS ABILITIES: • Demonstrated ability to perform processes in the delivery of care to specific age groups. • Theoretical and practical knowledge of medicine. • Ability to get along well with other staff and patients, including those of other cultural background. • Ability to make appropriate referrals to other specialists / service.
Qualifications: EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: A Doctor of Medicine or a Doctor of Osteopathy from a school in the United States approved by a recognizing body in the year of applicants graduation or a Doctor of Medicine, or an equivalent degree from a foreign medical school which provided education and medical knowledge substantially equivalent to accredited schools in the United States. Subsequent to obtaining a Doctor of Medicine or a Doctor Osteopathy degree, must have had at least one year of supervised experience providing direct services in a clinical setting. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must possess a permanent, current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of California. Must be Board certified. DEA X-waiver is highly preferred. We have a Medication Assisted Treatment program which utilizes the medication Suboxone.
