Summary: The Native American Rehabilitation Association (NARA) is a non-profit that provides culturally appropriate physical and mental health services and substance abuse treatment for American Indians, Alaska Natives and other vulnerable populations. Experienced Family Practice Physician with exceptional bedside manner sought to join The Native American Rehabilitation Association's (NARA) multidisciplinary team in serving the local Native community and other underserved populations from the Portland area.
Duties: Must have the ability to maintain professional boundaries with clients, the community, and other staff members; be able to work collaboratively with clients, other NARA staff, team members, and to treat everyone with respect and dignity at all times. Experience working within the Native American/Alaska Native community is considered a plus. Duties will include but will not be limited to: • Provide clinical treatment of acute and chronic illnesses and minor injuries. • Treat superficial lesions such as warts, cysts, minor lacerations, abrasions, minor first and second-degree bums within the physician's scope of practice. • Treat minor injuries such as strains, sprains, and non-complicating extremity fractures and dislocations within the physician's scope of practice. • Evaluate medical histories and perform routine health maintenance examinations for children and adults within the physician's scope of practice. • Coordinate the care the patient receives from other providers and agencies and advocates for the patient within the health care system. • Develop and document plan of care and outcomes evaluation in a timely fashion.
Qualifications: To Qualify: • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Practice • Unencumbered Oregon medical license • Possess a DEA certificate • Current CPR card
