The Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs Reservation is located in the north central region of the state of Oregon. The reservation has a land base of 640,000 acres and includes high lakes, rivers, deep canyons and volcanic peaks. Over half the reservation is forested, with the remainder primarily range land.
The Warm Springs Health and Wellness Center is a unique building with half the employees working for I.H.S and the other half working for the Tribe. Patient care is the focus in this medical home setting and interdiscipline collaboration is imperative. We are looking for nurse to join our team to provide nursing services to women from the time they get a positive pregnancy test until they are six weeks post-partum. Assist them with making appointments, answer questions, and educate them through one on one visits and childbirth education classes. The MCH nurse works closely with local medical providers and the hospital to case manage high risk clients as well as provide lactation consultation services. |
| Duties: | Provide Maternal Child Health Nursing services for childbearing families to optimize healthy pregnancy outcomes and nurture childbearing families with health education, disease prevention programs. Case manage prenatal patients through pregnancy up to six weeks post-partum including home visits. Provide lactation consultation services to families. Work closely with medical providers, local hospital system and WIC for patient care. Provide weekly classes for families on a variety of topics pertaining to childbearing families and childbirth education. |
