RN will work as part of the nursing program to provide care support to the Tulalip Health Services. Duties will include, but are not limited to: triage, phone triage, nurse visits, care coordination, and home visits. RN will act as a patient advocate and as well as support the clinical needs of patients/clients as appropriate.
Duties: 1. Coordinate and prioritize triage for management of patient care services. 1. Observes patient reactions to treatments and reports to appropriate medical personnel. 2. Supports provider services, responsible for prescribed laboratory work and tracking of specimens. 3. Responsible for seeing the appropriate supplies are available as needed. 4. Uses Medical Equipment as directed. 5. Sterilizes equipment, instruments and supplies with OSHA approved methods. 6. Documents findings appropriately. 7. Answers patient care related phone calls, gives phone advice and performs follow-up as per department protocol. 8. Supports provider services, responsible for prescribed laboratory work and tracking of specimens. 9. Administers specific medication as directed. 10. Attends staff/nursing meetings as requested/required. 11. Provides phlebotomy and IV services as needed/as trained. 12. INFECTION CONTROL RESPONSIBILITIES: a. Use proper protection from blood borne pathogens and body fluids. b. Conduct proper use and disposal techniques for sharps. c. Properly sterilize equipment, instruments, and work area. d. Use proper handling and disposal techniques for infectious waste and biohazards. 13. SAFETY RESPONSIBLILITIES: a. Keep work and patient areas clear and free of sharps and chemicals. b. Maintain current certification in CPR. 14. Follow facility policies and attend in services as appropriate. 15. Performs other duties as deemed necessary. Extent of Job Authority: Under the direction of the Clinical Director for medical oversight, works independently within their licensure and in coordination with the Clinical Services team to care for patients. Authority in medical situations corresponds to licensure. • Must be able to work in a culturally diverse environment • Must be dependable • Must adhere to strict confidentiality requirements of all information seen and heard • Must abide by HIPAA Regulations while employed and after leaving the organization
Qualifications: Education: • Degree in Practical Nursing or Registered Nursing • Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) Experience: • Three (3) years' experience as an RN (Registered Nurse) • One (1) year experience with phone triage as an RN • One (1) year experience in handling acute care or emergent care as a professional nurse • One (1) year experience in a skilled nursing facility • One (1) year experience using EPIC • One (1) year experience in Electronic Health Record • One (1) year experience working with the Native Community • Three (3) months using the Scheduling GUI module to assist workflow Prerequisites: • Must possess an active unrestricted Washington State License as a Registered Nurse. • Must possess current CPR or BCLS • ACLS certification • The Tulalip Tribes requires different levels of pre-employment background screening for all positions.
