Maniilaq Association provides a wonderful professional opportunity for employment. It is a unique opportunity to work together with intriguing people who are balancing the preservation of their traditional language and customs while implementing the knowledge and skills necessary to provide quality service. Provides patient care in Outpatient and Women's Health services while providing oversight of staff and the unit during the shift. Supports the hospital mission, goals and objectives. Reports directly to the Outpatient Services Manager. |
| Duties: | 1. Reviews staffing assignments, making adjustments as needed to accommodate nursing strengths and call outs/vacations. 2. Maintains knowledge of patients' whose conditions may require a move to a higher level of care (ER). 3. Insures required S[INVALID] shift reports are completed by appropriate staff. 4. Assigns meal times and cleaning/restocking duties as appropriate. 5. Ensures that the Pyxis Medstation is free of narcotic (controlled substances) discrepancies at the start and end of each shift (before clinical staff go off-duty). 6. Ensures crash carts are checked each shift per policy. 7. Precepts new nursing staff in the OPD area, assists with orientation of new staff to Women's Health area. 8. Reviews all incident reports and medication error reports with manager to assist with process changes and improvements. 9. Serves as the first link of Maniilaq's |
| Qualifications: | Must have RN license in good standing and be eligible to apply for an Alaska licensure as a Registered Nurse. Must have prior experience in Outpatient services and/or Women's Health. |
