Summary: Winslow Indian Health Care Center [WIHCC] is a Tribal 638 Program located in the north central Arizona along the Interstate-40 highway in Winslow, Arizona. WIHCC serves the healthcare needs of the Native American Indians in the southwestern portion of the Navajo Nation involving the communities of Winslow, Dilkon, Leupp, Tolani Lake, Teesto, Seba Dalkai, Indian Wells, Jeddito, and Whitecone.

Under general supervision of the Nurse Executive, the Clinical Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care services in a multidisciplinary program environment for patients within the Division of Nursing which provides Ambulatory and Urgent Care Center Services. Position will be either assigned to Urgent Care or Ambulatory care, depending on openings and qualifications. Must be able to work as a team member and develop productive and cooperative working relationships in a fast-paced environment. In addition, the clinical nurse will receive medical direction from the medical staff. Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information. While the Nurse Executive provides general supervision, the Chief Nurse Executive will maintain division oversight.
Duties: Triage and provide treatment, according to the status of patients and level of care needed within scope of practice and learning. Prepares patients for tests, exams and treatment administers prescribed medications via proper route. Maintains health records by proper and complete documentation of nursing observations, interventions, therapeutic measures and patient education. Reviews health maintenance data and actively participates in the implementation of Winslow Indian Health Care Center maintenance objectives. Provides counseling and teaching to patients and families on preventive, curative and rehabilitative measures involved in health care. Maintains professional knowledge and skill in nursing by attending continuing education, staff meetings, workshops and serving on QM/HP Teams/Committees. Assumes Team Leader/Charge Nurse duties as assigned. Exercises excellent interpersonal skills in handling interaction with clinical staff, patients and families. Maintains regular attendance and punctuality. Uphold all principles of confidentiality and patient care to the fullest extent. Adhere to all professional and ethical behavior standards of the healthcare industry. Interact in an honest, trustworthy and dependable manner with patients, employees and vendors. Possess cultural awareness and sensitivity. Ability to meet attendance, overtime, and other reliability requirements of the job. In compliance with all Human Resources requirements. Performs other duties as assigned related to clinical field as necessary.
Qualifications: Valid Registered Nursing license from one of the 50 states required. Possess practical knowledge of professional nursing principles, AAAHC standards and requirements, and standards of care Current BLS/CPR is required ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC and ATCN are are required for Urgent Care assignments. Demonstrated leadership skills and creativity in problem solving Bilingual skills in English and Navajo language preferred Must maintain a valid unrestricted and insurable driver's license
