The Alamo Navajo Health Clinic [ANHC] is looking for a Nurse Practitioner with experience and willingness to work in a remote beautiful corner of southwest New Mexico. ANHC is a primary care clinic with onsite Lab, Pharmacy, Dental Clinic and Wellness Center. Candidates should be flexible with strong interpersonal and problem solving skills. Housing is available. The position includes excellent benefits. ANHC is required by law to give absolute preference to qualified applicants who meet the Secretary of the Interiors definition of Indian for appointment to vacancies in accordance with established IHS policy as outlined in the Indian Health Manual. Duties: 1. Review health summary of clients of Alamo Navajo Clinic 2. Perform history and Physical Examinations in children and adults 3. Provide counseling to clients 4. Prescribe and dispense adequate medicines to clients 5. Provide Preventive Medicine to clients, including vaccination 6. Participate in Diabetes care management 7. Maintain Professional License
Qualifications: 1. Minimal qualifications: Graduation from an accredited training program for Nurse Practitioner [i.e., approved by the Committee on allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association] with a baccalaureate degree. 2. Three years or more experience in an outpatient Nurse Practitioner position elsewhere, including graduate school or summer internship. Salary is based on experience and education.
