**Position is open until filled, Salary Range is negotiable** The Medical Director is responsible for overseeing daily operations; provides clinical leadership both internally and externally. Serves as an essential liaison amount Management, staff, contracted providers, vendors and to promote and improve communication and operations areas of medicine. The medical director carries out assigned programs to assure the delivery of quality medical care to the membership, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and standards, and assisting in the development and implementation of new policy and programs as needed. Duties: ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND STANDARDS: 1. Assists the Executive Director in overseeing all medical activities of the health center to include clinic productivity, clinic efficiency, scheduling, billing, medical records, HIPAA compliance, quality assurance, quality improvement, chronic disease initiatives and strategic planning. 2. Makes recommendation as to staffing, clinic hours, job descriptions and qualifications of all clinical staff. 3. Acts as final authority for policy and procedure for medical protocols and clinic medical policy. 4. Provides conflict resolution as well as mediation in staff related matters. 5. Directly oversees any medical liability related accusations as well as constructs and maintains peer review system. 6. Performs administrative duties as they relate to Human Resources, mediation, and conflict resolution. 7. Oversees health center infection control activities. 8. Directs medical staff resources to provide the most effective medical services for patients. 9. Responsible to keep current Continued Medical Education (CME) requirements for licensure and continued expansion of medical knowledge. 10. Works as a health center clinician with a half panel of patients. 11. Provide complete, comprehensive, family-oriented outpatient care for patients throughout the life cycle, including health examinations and treatment of medical conditions, to include follow-up and any problems detected. 12. Make appropriate referrals to both internal disciplines of the clinic and/or external agencies for additional services required. 13. Work closely with the Behavioral Health program to provide integrated care for our mental health population. 14. Responsible for accurate, timely documentation in the patients medical record of patient contacts, case planning and plan of care. 15. Participate in an on-call system as needed. 16. Participate and direct various administrative/clinical staff meeting. 17. Work with pharmacy, dental, lab, optometry, behavioral health, and physical therapy to address mutual concerns. 18. Works as a medical team member to foster teamwork with clinical and non-clinical staff. 19. Performs all duties using universal precautions and appropriate protective equipment as required to reduce exposure to infection, bloodborne pathogens and hazardous materials. Qualifications: ESSENTIAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Salary is dependent upon credentials and experience. M.D. or D.O. or NP/ARNP in Family Practice or Internal Medicine. Be board certified with at least 5 years of clinical experience. Must be licensed to practice medicine in Washington and have current DEA license; must have BLS and ACLS certification. Will be required to submit to yearly PPD test and maintain CPR credentials. Knowledge of history, culture and health needs of Native American communities preferred. Must possess the ability to work independently, have excellent communication skills, both oral and written, ability to handle conflict and crisis in a professional manner, be computer literate and have a valid drivers license with insurable record. Maintain current license, DEA and certification. Tribal preference applies. Experience, Skills, Licensure: Ability to provide primary care in a community health care environment. Applicable Washington State Licensing, DEA Certification, National Certification if ARNP.
