2016 MSPI GEN-I FOA: REISSUE
Re-Issue of the 2016 MSPI GEN-I Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) for Navajo, Phoenix, and Tucson IHS Areas
This FOA is ONLY open to Tribes, Tribal organizations, and IHS Federal facilities in the Navajo, Phoenix, and Tucson IHS Areas, as the 2016 MSPI GEN-I funding allocation for these areas was not fully awarded/expended in the initial award cycle process.
This FOA is specific to MSPI Purpose Area #4: Generation Indigenous (GEN-I) Initiative Support, with project work focusing on Native youth and families by promoting early intervention strategies and implementation of positive youth development programming to reduce risk factors for suicidal behavior and substance abuse.

For Tribes and Tribal Organizations
- The re-issue of the GEN-I (MSPI Purpose Area #4) FOA for Tribes and Tribal organizations was announced via the Federal Register on December 7, 2016. Tribes and Tribal organizations in the Navajo, Phoenix, and Tucson Areas must apply for the MSPI Purpose Area #4 funding via the grant application process on Grants.gov.
- "New Applicants" refers to those applicants who are not a current MSPI Purpose Area #4 (GEN-I) grantees.
NOTE: If you are a current MSPI grantee in Purpose Areas #1, #2, or #3, you are considered a NEW APPLICANT.

Information on the re-issued FOA and application process was provided, and participants had an opportunity to ask questions about the Federal Register FOA requirements (for Tribes and Tribal organizations) and the Federal program funding opportunity requirements (for IHS Federal facilities). The TA webinar is one hour in duration, and time was dedicated toquestions/answers at the end of the webinar.
