Resume Mining Training Schedule

Resume mining has become an increasingly popular recruitment practice that involves sorting through resumes housed on media, social media and talent networks to identify prospective candidates who have the training and skillsets to complement a facility and its staff. In an effort to ensure that all recruiters understand the value of resume mining and take full advantage of the available sources for mining talent, DHPS plans to educate recruiters through a series of webinar trainings hosted by the following publications:

  • March 1 — National Council for Behavioral Health
  • March 8 — MDLinx
  • March 15 — Health Jobs Nationwide
  • March 29 — TAOnline
  • April 5 — RallyPoint
  • April 12 — Physician Job Board
  • April 19 — AfterCollege
  • May 10 — Federal Practitioner
  • May 17 — RxCareer Center
  • May 23 — 3RNet

The webinars will kick off on Tuesday, March 1 and run weekly at 3:00 p.m. EST. Please click here to receive log-in information and to get additional details. We encourage all federal facilities and Tribes who have retroceded 100 percent of their recruitment shares to attend these trainings to learn how to use this valuable resource to access resumes.

Media Dollars at Work for You
Google AdWords
New to our media mix this year is the introduction of Google AdWords — an advertising platform that allows advertisers to compete to display brief ad content tied to Web searches. IHS will use defined keywords on AdWords to link directly to IHS job postings and landing pages. AdWords content is generally short (a headline, two text lines and a display URL) and appears during search results or on partnering websites that are part of Google’s Display Network. This new avenue of advertising provides an immediate return on investment (ROI) for each keyword search, which is measured and reported monthly.
2016 Virtual Career Fair

The 2016 IHS Virtual Career Fair series kicked off on February 18 and drew record interest and attendance. The February event focused on Physicians, Physician Assistants, Nurses and Nurse Practitioners; the next two events will profile specific health profession disciplines (below) in addition to providing general recruitment and Loan Repayment Program (LRP) eligibility and application information.

Planning Your Successful Transition Brochure and Workbook

Planning Your Successful Transition Brochure and Workbook

This insightful brochure and accompanying workbook are designed for prospective clinicians visiting Indian health facilities and communities. The brochure explains how to identify if a career working within an Indian health facility and community is the right fit and offers tips to consider when contemplating making an urban-to-rural transition. The workbook provides helpful checklists and ample space to document pertinent details about a site visit (Area, community, local Tribes and their customs, housing, cost of living, education and employment opportunities for spouses).

The first DHPS Cooperative Advertising Program webinar held in January was a huge success. Participants had an opportunity to learn about DHPS’ extensive collection of recruitment and retention marketing materials, the success of our 2015 national media campaign and tactics planned for 2016.

If you missed the webinar, you can listen to the recording here. Stay tuned to the next issue of the Recruiter Insider for details about the Co-op Advertising Program webinar planned for April.
